Distributing the “sweet” since 1978

Belcan was founded in 1978 in Badalona and it was positioned in a short time in the field of industrial bakery as a distributor. Moreover, the rapid growth makes them go for the development and own manufacture in 1989. Then they started providing the freshest and highest quality products of the market.

From the development of some of his most characteristic products, Belcan becomes a reference in its sector and begins to expand its facilities and improve their work processes.

After starting in an area of ​100m2 and a total of 4 workers on staff, Belcan moved in 1994 to a new 700m2 space, expanding its staff to 10 employees in total.

The year 1997 marks a before and after in the projection of this company, which is secured nationally thanks to the trust of its customers, moving into a warehouse of 2000m2 and investing heavily in the latest machinery and incorporating a number of automated processes which increase considerably the production volume. In turn, these new facilities will allow the two businesses to centralize distribution and processing, which so far were located at two separate points.

That same year, Belcan launches a wide range of products that also joins the range of frozen, starting with small fried Xuxo Crema .

In 2000, the company acquired  Fontisi Products dedicated to the production and retail sale of bakery products, with more than 40 years old in the industry and specializes in pastry goods and special dates like Roscón de Reyes, Cocas San Juan, Panellets, Roscos de Vino y Almendra and Christmas specialties.

Currently, Belcan offers the public a range of products categorized according to their characteristics. Thus we find the Xuxos, Croissants, Ensaimadas and Hojaldre from Belcan. Products the company has developed as a result of constant innovative spirit and always seeking the needs of your target audience.

Who’s behind Belcan?

Belcan has a staff of 40 employees who are responsible for developing the best traditional pastries daily meeting each and every one of the controls and health standards. Therefore implemented a quality control system based on the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Control Points Critical) and always uses quality ingredients in all its processes.

Further facilities monitored Microbiological Control, once again ensuring the health of all products.

However, is committed to preserving the environment and adhering to Ecoembes, seal adopted by those agencies that meet recycling standards and care about their environment.


Company in continuous growth and expansion

The most innovative equipment and technology come together to create a unique product because of its great quality.

Belcan currently has a three-storey building with a total of 2000m2, 1750m2 of which have been designed to work on developing and 250m2 of warehouse and distribution areas. However, given the continued growth of the company, it provides for an impending move to a new larger space in which to keep innovating and creating the best bakery products market.
